Our Operation
Grown on grass, backgrounded on-property.
Grass-based grazing and our own backgrounding feedlot take cattle to feeder weight, with low-stress handling through every step.
Rotational grazing at Rosehill
Our breeders and young cattle run on rotational grazing country at Rosehill, north of Gin Gin. Good ground cover and planned rotations keep both the country and the cattle in strong condition year-round.
Backgrounded on-property at Widgewa
At Widgewa we run our own feedlot, backed by our own silage, to background cattle to feeder weight and condition before they move on to commercial feedlots to be finished. Will feeds up each day, so that controlled grow-out is even and well managed.
Handled quietly, every time
Calm, patient handling is a core value, not an afterthought. It’s safer for our people, better for the animals, and it shows in temperament and weight gain.
Provenance
A clear line from our country to the feeder pen.
Because the genetics, the grazing and the feedlot sit within the one operation, we can stand behind every animal’s story: how it was bred, grown, backgrounded and handled. That provenance is what makes Butler Grazing cattle worth seeking out.
